The Indian American Civic Forum (IACF) has held several Educational Seminar for the benefit of our college bound students at the West Windsor senior Center. Like every year, Don Betterton, Ex- Director of Financial Aid and Admissions Committee at Princeton University, does amazing power-point presentation showing the students what they need to do to get to top colleges. He stresses the need for students to be different from others and bring in exceptional attributes to the Admission process.
IACF's Annual Picnic is always fun. The Picnic is usually held at the West Windsor Community Park. Great food, games, music & entertainment are provided at the picnic. It is an excellent opportunity for all to socialize an with their friends and families Guests include local elected community Mayors, Assemblymen, county freeholders, law enforcement and other officials.
The Indian American Civic Forum (IACF) has held several jointly sponsored Health Fairs in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) or St Peter’s Healthcare System or Princeton Health Care System (PHCS) for our communities
A large team of doctors, nurses and supporting staff from these hospitals provide diagnostics and screenings on Cholesterol, Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Osteoporosis, Dental check- ups and Vision and Glaucoma. Guest speakers engage in discussions such as Indian diet and Cardio health and suggest how we could make some modifications in the diet and exercise to improve our health.
IACF is also a proud sponsor of the South Asian Mental Health Awareness in Jersey (SAMHAJ). This organization is dedicated to its mission of improving the lives of South Asians affected by mental illness in New Jersey. SAMNA] provides support for families and individuals affected by mental illness through support groups, and referrals to bilingual and culturally competent mental health services. They offer a supportive environment to help individuals and families navigate the complicated mental health system.
IACF’s Annual Felicitation Dinner is held annually to recognize all the civic leaders and volunteer service organizations of Mercer and Middlesex Counties.
Our police, fire, rescue squads, all give selflessly of themselves to serve and protect the residence of our communities and IACF felicitates and honors their valor and dedication and expresses its deepest appreciation to the men and women who make this sacrifice.
At this Felicitation Dinner, IACF also honors: Woman Space, Manvi, American Breast Cancer, Disaster Relief Organizations, Eden School of Autism and other similar organizations.
